ONUR Launches Second Phase of Educational Program for Youth at Ambepussa Rehabilitation Centre and Mahara Prison.
As part of the second phase of the educational program series for the youth undergoing rehabilitation at the Ambepussa Rehabilitation Center and the youth undergoing rehabilitation at the Mahara Prison, six modules have been designed for the development of the knowledge, skills and attitudes of these inmates. A resource group has been selected for this purpose and a training workshop for them as trainers commenced on 20th and 21st July 2026 at the Sarvodaya Vishwa Niketan Institute, Moratuwa. ONUR Chairman Vijith Rohan Fernando, Chief Resource Person Dr. Alex Perera, Prison Reform Resource Person Geetha Karadawala, ONUR Assistant Director Susantha Kumara, Development Officer Thanusha Hasanthi and the resource person team participated in the event.
