The second phase of the Dhamma Chintha Kathika program for a Heald Society was successfully held today (2025.06.02) at the National Integration Division Auditorium under the leadership of the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation. The group led by Buddhist monks who attended the event engaged in an in-depth discussion on the next steps to build a healthy society. They also discussed at length how to bring Dhamma Chintha Kathika into Pirivena education, what Buddhist approaches should be adopted to build a healthy society, and how the media and youth should actively contribute to these approaches. Venerable Kumara Kassapa Thero of Angunachchiya, Venerable Vimaladassi Thero of Beragama, Venerable Somananda Thero of Deekadwe, Venerable Dhammananda Thero of Galkande, Venerable Vineetha Thero of Lunugamvehere, Venerable Seelananda Thero of Migahajandure, Venerable Piyadassi Thero of Rajanganaya, and Venerable Nipon Chakma Thero of Burma contributed their voluntary resources, while Venerable Migahajandure Siriviyama Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Naga Viharaya in Jaffna, joined the online system. The program was conducted by the Chairman of the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, Senior Lecturer Vijith Rohan Fernando, while Governing Board Member Venerable Omare Punyasiri Thero and Governing Board Member Suchith, Director General (Coverage) Ms. Sanduni Ariwansa, Assistant Director of Arts and Culture and Media, Public Relations Mr. H.S. Lakmal, Socio-Economic Empowerment Mr. Manoj Munasinghe, and Governing Board Secretary Ms. Mithi Dissanayake participated representing the office.
