From Drama to Reality: “Yakawewata Nandikadal” Concludes Successful Run at BMICH Kamatha Theatre
The last two performances of this year’s stage play Yakawewata Nandikadal, produced by the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, were held very successfully on 28.06.2026 at the Kamatha Theatre, Colombo, on the premises of the Bandaranaike Conference Hall. A large number of people, including venerable priests, university professors and professors, state officials including executive officers of the state apparatus, university students, drama and theater students, participated in watching this play, which carried the true message of reconciliation of people seeking a healthy society. It was also a special occasion that the chief organizer of the current ruling National People’s Power Party, ministers and members of parliament also came to watch the play. At the end of the play, the program ended by introducing the artists who were involved in the play and their real life experiences. It should also be noted that the audience who came to express their genuine feelings at the end of the play were not forgotten.
