Healing narratives through Arts. (CES)

Using art as a medium to build a narrative on reconciliation can be a powerful tool, especially in post-war communities that have been divided, to heal minds and nurture peace. Art, particularly through storytelling with images, helps in healing individual trauma, expressing emotions, and promoting understanding. A reconciliation narrative based on art can be used as a tool to build peace.

The Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, in line with the Clean Sri Lanka concept, intends to implement this initiative as part of the We Sri Lankan program. Through this, the We Sri Lankan concept will be disseminated, and the office aims to inspire social engagement towards reconciliation and peace.

By targeting members of co-existence societies, this program will ensure that these societies always remain active and well engaging. This means that through the benefits and awareness provided to society members, there will be a sustained and direct grassroots contribution, which will help to maintain other related activities of the office, including early warning and responding systems.
