Cultural Exchange Programmes (CES)

Organizing a cultural exchange program to build national peace and coexistence is an effective approach to enhance understanding and respect between different communities within a country. As you are aware, with their continuous support, the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation has established co-existence societies that span from the grassroots to the national level. We believe that it is now timely to utilize these co-existence societies as a means to implement the aforementioned cultural exchange programs.

The Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, in line with the Clean Sri Lanka concept, intends to implement this initiative as part of the We Sri Lankan program. Through this, the We Sri Lankan concept will be disseminated, and the office aims to inspire social engagement towards reconciliation and peace.

By targeting members of co-existence societies, this program will ensure that these societies always remain active and well engaging. This means that through the benefits and awareness provided to society members, there will be a sustained and direct grassroots contribution, which will help to maintain other related activities of the office, including early warning and responding systems.
