The objective of this programme is to promote unity and reconciliation among universities to initiate a dialogue among the university students belonging to different religious communities, leading to social cohesion and peaceful co- existence in the multi religious and multi ethnic society in Sri Lanka. The programme is designed to achieve the following specific objectives.


    • Change the mindset of the university students
    • Minimize internal conflict among the university students
    • Strengthen the capacity of University Student on how to live with diverse communities.
    • Creating a platform to discuss the issues of the universities and sharing experience.


    In achieving the above the “1st Annual Conference of Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, Sri Lanka” is to be held on the 30th & 31st October 2021. On the Theme


    “Resolving Differences through Understanding: Sustainable Peace, Security and Reconciliation in Modern Society”


    This Online Conference is initiated to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and academics to present and discuss their current research in the area of reconciliation and present the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted. Participants are given an ideal opportunity to publicize their research findings and experiences and to develop new collaborations and network with experts on the fundamentals, applications, and outcomes.
